    Time for an update on this car too. Turbo and power last year was 1115whp @ 2 bar boost and Borg Warner 8082 turbo. This year the power is turned down to 949whp with a dual ball bearing gen 2 Precision 6870 turbo with 1.8 bar boost.

    He didn't get a framegrab of the last run, but here you can see the curve at 941whp.

    Prescision gen 2 6870 1.15 A/R. 1. 8 bar active dual vanos with MaxxEcu. They finally combated the shims popping at redline over 8000 and backfiring issue by going for soft fuelcut istead of ignition cut and applying ignition retard before fuelcut for a soft cut. Probably the only real issue with the S54 due to its valvetrain/rocker arm setup. A trationtional S38 or S50 euro has not this issue with their separate cam house and different design.

    You can compare with last years 1115WHP @2.2 bar with Borg Warner 8082 A/R 1.10.

    Or the year before that at 1060WHP with only 2.0 bar an less vanos R&D, same BW turbo.

    For the sake of relevance here is two additional dynosheet on a friends E34 M5 S38 3.6L turbo with firstly a similar Prescision gen 2 6870 A/R 1.15 @ 2.0 bar. He has staged fuel injection with euro 95 octane up to 700hp and then additional E98 race grade ethanol fuel secondary injectors for the last bit up to max power. 850cc gasoline injectors @ 90% dutycycle and 1680cc E85s @ 30% dutycycle.

    In the end the turbo was just to small and created to much back pressure and temp for the big S38.

    He then swapped it out for a Precision 7675 ball bearing A/R 0.96 @ 1.85 bar and that was more compatible:

    Here is the fancy fuel system. Fitted additional injectors on the underside. Reasons due to our countries downsizing on ethanol gas stations outsize the big cities and the need for pumpfuel for daily driven cars.
