    • A BMW F87 M2 Competition pulls in with 374 rwhp and leaves with 500 rwhp

This is why the switch to the S55 motor is so big for the BMW F87 M2 platform. It is also why Car and Driver writing that the M2 Competition 'Doesn't Perform Any Better' was such a joke. Look at what some simple bolt on tuning does for an M2 Competition.

This car received Active Autowerke mid-pipes, a BMS intake, and a Stage 2 flash tune.

The result is night and day:

The M2 Competition is far more capable and has a much better top end horsepower curve.

BMW should have used the S55 from the beginning. Non-M motors do not belong in M cars.

That is amazing. But what about the S55 crankhub issue? Would it become an issue with this power increase?

It's even an issue stock until addressed.

Project handled in our Shop. It has a bootmod3 stage2 tune on it.

Take it to a road-course... The only thing that it will be faster at is hitting limp mode.

I thought the cooling on the S55 was addressed by BMW?

I haven't seen any S55's overheat at the track. I can see to a point the extra power won't make you any faster, but still feels good!
