    • Porsche 991.2 Carrera dyno results before and after Dyno Spectrum tune + intercoolers

PorscheBoost Porsche Performance Forums member @quattr0 decided it was time to unlock some of the power in his car and upgrade the cooling at the same time. He took his 2017 911 Carrera to Driversource located in Houston, Texas.

      Mods:

      - AMS intercoolers
      - Cobb AP tuned by Mitch at Dyno Spectrum
      - Installed and dynoed by DriverSource

Dyno Spectrum is well recommended especially for remote tuning 991.2's.

Let's take a look at the baseline (5th gear is blue, 4th is red):

Baseline numbers are right where they should be and it is interesting to note 5th gear shows a bit more mid-range.

Now the result after tuning and the installation of intercoolers:

Torque goes up by 126 lb-ft at the wheels. It is going to feel like an entirely new car.

The horsepower curve is nice as well considering how quickly the small Carrera turbos run out of steam. Another 91 peak horsepower at the wheels was picked up.

If you haven't tuned your 991.2 3.0 yet, what are you waiting for?

Will need to fix the rear first..thinking tires, camber and maybe adjustable upper arms.

        Thank you Joe for fp.

Is your car really loose in the rear? I’m running Mitch’s calibration and have quite a bit of traction issues.

Yeah I was eager to pick her up as its weekend. Steve and Mitch were exchanging emails so maybe there's something for me.

        Thanks for the heads-up.

Tires make a huge difference. The factory tires suck. Went I went to a drag radial, no issue whatsoever although running that on the street isn't possible daily.

I'm searching for a 20 inch street compound currently.

You think camber adjustments and adjustable upper arms will make a difference?

Suspension tuning can fine tune the weight transfer and squat so that’s its optimal for straight line traction.

Will see if I could get a better version first then looking at the rest.

        Pirelli sucks?

I trust Steve as he used to race Cup car. So if it will need to come to that, I will do it.

Oh 2nd and 3rd gears under overpass is eargasm now. I love my SpeedTech!!!

PDK, if manual I would be able to modulate the throttle during wheel spin.

I put a new set of Pirelli’s in the rear and the traction is a little better. I’d imagine after a couple of thousand miles it will go to $#@! again.

Please share the alignment specs if they get your car to hook well.

How many miles you had when you put in new tires?

Agreed on modulation. Would like to just mash and go tho lol Given the torque increase...understandable.

My tire tread was like new at 10K miles but the tires were really slippery. Took on a screw so I replaced the rears (car is a lease and not sure if I will keep). If I keep the car, I’ll do some Sport Cup 2’s.

        Hell yea!!!! Solid gains.

P4Ss + 305 rears helped clean things up with mine.
