    • Porsche Panamera 'Project Lion' targeting 7:10 Nurburgring laptime and crushing the sedan record

Porsche likes to be the king of the Nurburgring and it is not surprising considering it is essentially a home track for the Germans. The current four-door Nurburgring production champion is the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S 4Matic+ with a 7:25.41 laptime.

The plate on the test car is apparently a nod to the internal goal of 7:10 and apparently 7:11 was achieved.

How? This is a Panamera with 500+ pounds stripped out and 800+ horsepower. Porsche is seeing what they can push the Panamera to internally it seems.

Will this actually be a production model? Doubtful. It seems Porsche is just doing this as marketing for the 10th anniversary of the Panamera and for their own internal research.

We'll know more when or even if Porsche comments on the test car.
