Today, 03:11 PMSticky created an article The shady side of tuning - OBD-II 991.2 Siemens SDI 21.X port flashing/unlocking already stolen in Porsche Performance - Forums, Tuning, Racing, Parts, News, and MotorsportsRemember when APR announced they cracked OBD-II port flashing without requiring a physical ECU unlock on the 991.2 platforms (and 718) with the Siemens SDI 21.X engine control unit? Well, it only took a couple days for this to be stolen. This is the nature of the tuning business. APR actually had this cracked months before announcing it because they knew as soon as they announced it someone would read out one of their cars as soon as it was possible. Someone did and hence the announcement from AutoTuner that then spread to others and will continue to spread. This is not the first time and not the last time you will see this happen.3 replies | 120 view(s)

Why 1000whp...because of the following link (from an older topic) where we can see inner details of the s54 : https://www.bimmerboost.com/showthread.php?4010-SECRETS-Behind-The-HPF-1000-RWHP-Daily-Driven-BMW-M3-RACE-ENGINES-VIDEO About the 2JZ, everything looks even bigger and stronger, as explained here : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FHSvVIkxPB425 replies | 6952 view(s)

Today, 08:57 AMBatman commented on article Cannonball record (US coast to coast) broken in tuned Mercedes-AMG W212 E63 sedan - 27 hours, 25 minutes in Automotive Performance - Forums, Tuning, Racing, Parts, News, and MotorsportsPermanent AWD with fixed torque split. I believe it's 33% to the front, and 67% to the rear. In my opinion, this is proof that you don't need a complicated AWD system with 2-wheel drive mode.3 replies | 551 view(s)

Yesterday, 12:37 PMRob@RBTurbo replied to a thread N54: N54 Twin Turbo Hybrids vs. Reliability Update (inc. RB Stats) in N54, N55, N52This above as the new hotsides are really in a league of their own. There is no doubt they are going to make well more power psi for psi and be a hell of a lot less strain on the engine in the process, more than likely they are well less exhaust backpressure at ~30+psi than the OE-style housings are at ~25psi. Yesterday, 03:10 AMF87Source commented on article Doc Race develops a BMW version of their B58 top mount BorgWarner based turbo turbo kit - F22 240i, G20 340i, G22 440i, etc. in BMW Performance - Forums, Tuning, Racing, Parts, News, and MotorsportsHOLY CRAP, that's the biggest EFR available, 1000WHP here we come! I always said the supra community would drive development of the B58 platform because import guys always are willing to spend crazy money on cars unlike the BMW community. I personally prefer a bottom mounted turbo because I don't like the idea of bringing heat up higher in the engine bay than need be, the increased diificulties of having an air filter, and longer exhaust runners means more lag, but if this is what must be done to fit an EFR 9280 then it is what it is. Turbo blankets and heat wrap will help of course, but it's still not perfect heat insulation. Can this setup run an airfilter? I would hate to see particulate matter destroy the $1500 turbo, and mess up the engine. Plus I personally really hate filterless setups. On a side note the speedtech kit has a 9180 available which is a step down from the 9280, I do wonder if they could make the 9280 fit in a bottom mounted configuration though. All in all, good stuff doc race! Your kits are always really good quality in terms of fit and finish, and use of quality components.1 replies | 947 view(s)
