Getrag 420G and UUC Twin Disk (Organic) installed.

It took me a while to get this done, mainly because I am not a mechanic (I'm in Banking) and I was alone doing this on my back from underneath the car. It also took longer than expeceted because the UUC flywheel kept hitting the 10mm bolts that hold the flywheel oil seal lid. In the end I had to shave off almost 2mm of lit bolts heads with my Dremel.

The car feels great now. My old clutch was working well, however it was a very heavy pedal and it was not made for street use and therefore would not slip with ease... The UUC however has a VERY light pedal and can be driven like a stock clutch. It feels exacly the same as my Mini Cooper in fact.

The Getrag 420G is a great gearbox, feels smoother than the ZF310, but the ZF was more easy to put into reverse.

    Some pix from the install:

The sound insulation blanket was too damaged, so I removed it and smeared some insulation paint also for corrotion protection..

Here you can see the damage. UUC has re-designed the flywheel by shaving off some material, however they need to shave more in my opinion.

There are some interesting cars in there. The E91 M3, The Killer E21, The FMU E90, The E87 race car. But you got my vote. Click here to enlarge
I think you should make a thread on the contest to draw others' attention.

The editor of the magazine chose 20 nominations out of the many cars they featured in 2012. Mine was on the cover in August along with a 6 page feature. You can download it on the PBMW mag web page. Here are the first two pages along with the cover.

    Downpipe re-design

I have wanted to re-design the ends of the exhaust housing for a while now, and the entry into the downpipes. The Turbos are Garrett GT2252, and are mainly used in Diesel applications, the Nissan BD30TI (small truck) and also the Caterpillar 3304T. I had planned to use pre-designed elbows from the Nissan S13-S14-S15 but comparing a gasket from a GT25 series (and onwards) it does not fit the same bolt pattern as my exhaust housings… so there will be no “off the shelf” solution. I am not looking at replacing the system with a single turbo setup btw. Long story short on the setup:-limited room to work with due to the twin bottom mount setup.-current lids limit the movement of the wastegate arms to about 1/4th of full opening.-wasted gas has 5mm gap in a full 90° angle to escape-escapes into a pipe which is 1.9" at the exhaust housing and then widens into the 2.25" of the exhaust (times two off course).-System has currently very high backpressure and I am quite sure that this is the root of the problem and not the size of the turbos (very small). First of all here are some pictures of the rear turbo lid and downpipe design. Click here to enlarge Click here to enlarge Click here to enlarge Click here to enlarge Click here to enlarge Click here to enlarge Click here to enlarge And here is the idea that I have for modifications. I will cut a hole at the wastegate 1-1.25" diameter (wastegate is 20mm each) and then weld a 1-1.25" bend from the hole merging into the downpipe. Maybe also widen the downpipe a bit at the top. For the mock-up, to test the fitment, I used a 1" silicone hose and some duct-tape. This would fit on the rear Turbo, I still need to remove the lid and downpipe from the front Turbo to see if a similar design would work. Idea.. Click here to enlarge Click here to enlarge [COLOR=black]Click here to enlargeMost likely solution will be something líka the COBB design R35 GT-R http://www.cobbtuning.com/Nissan-GT-.../5c1200.htmBut with a 10cm 2.25" diameter flex pipe of possibleSo i have decided to send the piping up to my friends at Jaws Motorsport www.jawsmotorsport.se. They will do modifications or full re- design depending on what they think.I have full faith in their ability as in 2009 I sent my old "can-style" manifolds to them and they used them to as a template/jig to create the tubule exhaust manifolds I now run Click here to enlarge
