"Donnie Jackson's 13-year-old daughter has spent the past three days in intensive care at a Hollywood hospital. A sensor sticks out of her head, where it monitors pressure in her skull.

''All I want is for her to be the same little girl she was,'' he said.

But Jackson said the doctors aren't sure that will happen.

His daughter, Natashia West, was injured Thursday while riding the Magic Teacup at Boomers in Dania Beach. Similar to Disney's Mad Tea Party, the ride carries passengers inside big round cups. At the center of each cup is a wheel riders can turn to control how fast the cup spins. The cups circle a large teapot.

Natashia and two other girls were in one cup, competing with a group of boys in another. They wanted to see who could spin fastest.

But during the ride, Natashia's body flared backward, then forward. She hit her head. It's unclear whether she hit another spinning cup or the teapot, Boomers officials said.

''It sounded like big thumps,'' said Jennifer Ricks, whose three sons were in the competing cup.

Natashia, of Tamarac, was taken to Joe DiMaggio's Children's Hospital in Hollywood. For several days, doctors had her on a respirator, but on Sunday Natashia was breathing on her own again. She can't talk, however, and only groans in response to family members, her father said.

Natashia, who is scheduled to start ninth grade at Taravella High School in Coral Springs this fall, is heavily sedated. Most of her injuries are from the front of her head hitting the spinner at the center of the cup, Jackson said.

''It's a park for kids,'' said Jackson, in the lobby of the hospital. ``You don't expect your child to be put on a ride one minute, and the next minute she's trauma-alerted.''

The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services inspected the ride Friday and found no mechanical problems and cleared it to reopen, but it remained closed Sunday. However, the state investigation is not finished.

An inspector's report is expected this week, said Terence McElroy, a spokesman for the department said.

Palace Entertainment, the California company that owns Boomers, said it is meeting with the teacup's manufacturer, Zamperla, and studying the ride.

The teacup ride as been at the Dania Beach Boomers since April 2006, but the company has used it at other locations since the '90s.

''We've given hundreds of thousands of rides and we've never had a problem,'' said Brett Petit, a Palace Entertainment spokesman. Petit said that the company has sent representatives to the hospital to see how Natashia is doing.

''Safety is the most important thing, and we will do all we can to help the girl,'' Petit said.

To get on the ride, a person must be at least 36 inches tall. But Ricks said she thinks older children may be too big for the ride.

Ricks noticed that her sons' heads were snapping back and she yelled at them to tuck their heads in. The operator heard her yells, stopped the ride and also told her sons to tuck their heads.

The boys went back to the ride later and challenged Natashia and her group to the cup-spinning competition.

''The ride goes too fast for the size of the teacup,'' Ricks said. ``And it's too small for the bigger kids to be on it.''

Thursday's incident is the latest of several recent amusement park injuries around the country.

In June, a 13-year-old girl had both of her feet severed above the ankles while riding the Superman Tower of Power free-fall ride at Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom in Louisville. On Friday, a 21-year-old Rye, N.Y., Playland employee died after she was tossed from a twisting ride."

TLDR: Kid in ICU from teacup ride, Kid lost legs at six flags, and employee died on spinny ride.

We have a very small amusement park here that has "drift carts" (medium speed go-cart on a slippery track) on friday they have unlimited rides for $10. Obviously thats awesome.

They have a teacup ride their, and when you get 10-15 adults speeding that thing up, with a guy that doesnt slow it down via the brake, we get those little tea cups going way faster then they are intended too.

You just left the link to a gore site that shares stuff from all over. I didn't see anything specific.

I've been watching shock vids since the late 90's and even then, I could never get enough.

I am already desensitized on the net but after getting a head injury and PTSD, it just kinda tickles my fancy, I guess.

While on the toilet I was wondering why my own poop smells so much less horrific to me than someone else, and vice versa. Google then led me to that website haha.
