    Transmission Malfunction on WOT 335xi

    The other day I was went WOT in 2nd gear and got transmission malfuction popup. It went into neutral and on the Idrive said to drive moderately. I pulled over and turned the car off and turned it back on and everything went back to normal. Is my transmission failing and cant handle the tq?

    It was 18 degrees F that day. My car is FBO with JB4 G5 iso and BMS flash running e50-e70.

    Anyone else have this happen and is this something I should worry about?Click here to enlarge?

    Wow, I have the same exact setup as you and experienced the same exact thing..

    Only solution for me was to limit boost to 10psi in 1st and 2nd gear Click here to enlarge

    I was thinking the same thing but thought since we have xi that since we can get better traction then a non-xi. Well I guess Ill have to set boost settings to 10psi for 1st and 2nd gear. It will be nice to know that we are encountering similar issues with almost identical setup.

    BTW have you dynoed or ran your car at a 1/4 mile track yet? Interested to see what kind of results you have since I plan on dragging the car this spring. I am actually getting the car dynoed again with this latest tune by Terry and see how much more power Im making.

    Last dyno was 390 awhp and 467lbs tq on map 5, 17 lbs of boost e30 blend. Going to run map 7 at 18.5-19lbs with a e60-e70 blend next week.

    I wonder why the transmission is going into limp mode when it has no idea what the load is that its running given the JB4 is stacked on top. Hmmm, do you get any codes? 2ABC possibly?

    That's what I thought DZ..
    Won't throw any ECU codes...I was able to read some TCU codes via INPA but was in German Click here to enlarge

    I might uninstall the JB4 this weekend and see if it does it with the .V403 E30 maps.. But then the -3 timing / flatline will kick in and not make much power with just Cobb so who knows..

    I checked for any codes but no codes thrown. This has only happened with the temp being in 10-20 degrees F.

    Did you check the TCU "Trans ECU" for codes with INPA?

    I dont have an INPA cable so was not able to see any TCU codes just what I could read from the JB4

    Your codes should still be stored in the TCU since you did not clear them with INPA.
    If you know anybody with a BT Cable you could read and clear them.

    55C3:
    xDrive Limp-Mode activated
    unplausible Signal or Signal over threshold

    Seems to be some connection issue to a DSC Sensor according to google

    55C3:
    55C3 VGSG-all-wheel-Notlaufregelung activated. No DXC index moment requirement.
    Error will not cause a warning light
    Error is not currently present
    Test conditions have not been completed
    found a Thread in e90 post for that: AWD Malfunction
    But the User there had more errors + mechanical failure.

    Signal or value over threshold

    btw.
    Can you do some real screenshots?
    on the first picture it says 3 error codes. But in the pictures I found only 2

    It appears this is an xi-related issue with the bms flash. Afaik I don't have this problem. I'll romp on it a bit in 2nd gear tonigjt and see if I can replicate it on my RWD car.
