My E46 that had a turbo for a few days...

    Well, i have this E46...

I did have a M43B19 motor in it, that i had installed a MHI turbo off a EVO VIII...

Heads would blow up within 100km each time... gave up after 6 heads...

    Junk motor...

So, now i'm installing this stuff:

I will keep you guys posted.... i think i might also install S62 plenum on it, and later remote turbo... i was thinking two MHI 16G (one for each bank) would be perfect ?

So you are putting an M62 into the E46? Respect. Forced induction on top of that?

Not really sure on FI.... but have been thinking about sequential MHI 14B or 16G turbos... nothing serious though... just a thought Click here to enlarge

Painting got delayed to the 18th of January, will be mocking up and setting the mounts for the motor in the next days... pictures to come...

Have aquired TWO MHI 16G (small housing) turbos, but i will be setting everything to "OEM" spec in the engine bay and starting the car before more planning goes on...

I think the M62TU platform is an excellent one for FI, stock MLS, big con-rod bearings and main bearings, con-rods seem rigid, and because i have the 3500cc and not the 4400cc i have way better cylinder clearance, so i should be able to run 12-15psi on stock head bolts and could even go more crazy with studs !

Seems i will only need a Intercooler, Injectors and some more fabrication to "slap a turbo on it" Click here to enlarge

I also have a S62 for parts and have been thinking about installing the ITB and Intake Plenum on the M62, that way i could feed each turbo to each port on the plenum...

If i get the ME7.2 remapped for "Air Speed Density" or... AlphaN fixed fuel table i see no problems in retrofitting the ITB to the M62 Click here to enlarge

Delayed the paintjob further, guess i went into focusing on getting the stuff i needed for the swap first, mocking everything 100% up and then i will paint everything...

    So far.... so good:

Might be able to help you out with this one.

Why don't you use your S62?

    We're here...

I was going to modify the subframe so that it would clear the pan, but it looks like i will be going to use a BMW X5 (E53) oil pan & pump...

The only thing that worries me now is that i can not fit a sway bar... have to rethink it at least...

I've been test fitting the motor and will start by using a 5HP24 transmission and a 4.44 ratio differential (168mm, let's see how long it holds)

I've already fixed the pinout for the ECU and wired in the electronic throttle pedal... everything should fire right up once the motor and tranny have been fitted in Click here to enlarge
