    M3 sedan or coupe?

I'm not in any rush to buy my m3 until the spring comes and weather clears here on the east coast.

I had my heart set on a e92 coupe but I've seen some nice e90 m3 sedans for sale.

I know the cars are relatively the same, with the coupe probably being slightly quicker. I'd like to hear some opinions on pros/cons of either one.

Sedan because I think it looks better. The coupe is longer which is screwed up, and the back dousn't look as agressive

Is the sedan stiffer? I remember in my e36 days everyone talked about the e36 m3 sedan chassis being stiffer

Yes it is and I'd go with an E90.

sedan is definitly stiffer. my opinion is of the E92 as its the more aggressive of the 2, and I dont like to carry passengers.

    BUT..

Its pretty badass packing your boys in the back of a supercharged M3 sedan. when we went to the ER pocono event, i drove AK's again and we were all packed in. it definitely has appeal to hau everyone around in that car, and if I "needed" a 4 door, its exactly what I would get

Coupe, hands down. You are driving a sports car. Not a grocery getter.

I don't need the 4 doors. I have a ford fusion daily driver and my wife has a 328xi e90. I'm torn, I'm looking at pics of both.... Seems like a nicely modded sedan is more rare.

very rare, and not in production i dont think @akh23456 would know.

i have NEVER seen a M sedan on the road and even at meets no more than say 3 total. I think its a more "refined" ride all together

yea i love my e90 the extra doors deff help lol. Everyone around here has e92 and only a handful of e90's that are modded from what i have seen. i think any m3 e92,90 with the S65 is a great choice.

Personally I could never bring myself to choose the E90 over the E92. The rear of the E90 is too awkward and I just hate the look of it. M3 should be a coupe, and coupe it is. Way sportier looking, no comparison.

It's also more rigid, this has been the case since E36 as you said. Sedans are stiffer than coupes. But if you don't need the backseat, E92 suits you better.

Some of the e90 m's I've found look amazing with some mods...

I'm going to look for a 2010-2011 dct m3, and after looking at both e90-e92, I like them both, I'll just get the best deal I can and see what I end up with.

I might be willing to trade my car for another car + cash once it's done. I'm going to move on to a new car and project once I set the record I'm looking for.

Interesting.... I'm looking for a clean, low mileage m to have some fun with, do some light mods to and see how the next gen F82/80 looks. I may decide to keep the e9x m and go all out with it, or get something else in a couple years.

I really want a Porsche but I'm holding off till I buy a house and make the wife happy...

It's just some brain storming, who knows I may fall in love with it all over again. I only have 12,000 miles. I don't plan on putting too many more on her before moving on to another project.
