Does anyone have the N54TU documentation (similar to this) that outlines the technical updates to that motor?

Sometimes called N54HP, or N54B30TO as well from what I was digging up. I was talking to a BMW Master Tech on Saturday and he said they revised the RGE/Oil Separator system to deal with the carbon buildup issues among other things. It was all internal. This is the motor that was used in the later 335is/Z435is, and I believe also the 1M according to what I am seeing here. First thing I said was is it a direct swap? Unforutnately not. So, I wanted to see for myself what exactly was changed. There are most certainly internal documents around somewhere.

I can't find any internal documents but yes you are referring to the N54B30TO.

I didn't think there were any differences really other than software but it seems you found something in the Oil Separator system.

Specifically he said that it better atomizes the oil. I suspect that you would still have buildup over time, but the cleaning interval would be much greater than every 10K like I am currently doing.
