    COBB coming soon?

I sent Cobb an email asking if they are looking into Porsche turbo tuning, got the answer that they are considering it and that I should check them out in a few months for news.

I would love having an AP for the 997.1tt Click here to enlarge

I think there are so many other units that are dominating that scene already..... I think Protomotive is using the ProEFI. No idea what EVOMS or BoostLogic use tho

Protomotive offers flash tuning like Softronic and most other Porsche tuners. But prices ranges from $2700-$3500, if Cobb sells the AP for around $1000 they would change this market like when Terry entered the N54 market.

Truuu, COBB's just gonna have a lot on their plates now. They're starting R&D into the N55 motor so that'll prob take some decent time of their Euro guys.

I <3 my COBB, I just think they're gonna have to offer something a lot more in-depth to compete on the Porsche market. Just not sure how the N54 COBB compares against the GTR COBB, but I'm gonna imagine their two COMPLETELY different beasts (especially after seeing what AMS, BoostLogic & Switzer have all done with their GTRs utilizing COBB tuning.

PS -- I'm VERY jealous you got the 997, about 100% sure that it's the next car I'd want. You got the 997.1 with the Mezger engine right?? Regardless, engine it in good health & enjoy blowing the doors off some unsuspecting competition Click here to enlarge

Ya but technically the n54 scene was packed as well... If Cobb enters it will be appreciated and up the competitiveness no doubt.

Yes its the 997.1 with "the" correct engine Click here to enlarge its a manual so I hope there is an E85 tune, new exhaust and some upgraded turbos in my future, might even look into adding a meth kit.

ZOOOM -- Since E85 is in the cards, @M3ntal & @prodigymb are the guys to speak (even tho they're 996) about what are the necessary mods for a lethal, non-kit build.

Regardless, the fact that you can basically hit 800 HP on a stock 997 motor = TheFuckingBomb.com

It would be a welcomed addition to have COBB in the Porsche market. The abilities that we can currently manipulate using ecu flashing software isnt too in dept at this point. The software for the GTR is great but still not as advanced as what you migh think in comparison to what else is out there. The fact is I have multiple software for many different vehicle platforms from ProEFI COBB ECUTEK etc and the GTR itself is the reason why they are so blisteringly impressive. Cobb even at a basic level will most likely have significant enhancements over what we can currently do on a reflash level.

I emailed Protomotive and they (Todd?) said that for E85 I basically only need new injectors Click here to enlarge fuel upgrades seems to be simpler than for the N54 Click here to enlarge

SOLID --- I remember reading on 6speed that the 997 fueling system is supposedly good up to 1,000 HP. Are you gonna just tune for E85 or get an ethanol sensor?

997tt just needs injectors and tune to run E85. I would run FIC1100s

Exactly what Todd at Protomotive told me, since all gas stations here has E85 (and it is cheaper than 93) its an easy choice Click here to enlarge
