Nice car but your doing it all wrong man. It needs to be set up to hook. The idea of, I need more and more tire to hook is the wrong mindset. More is not always smarter.

VAC ran 10.60's@130 on 265 18" DOT drag radials. 1.63 60ft time full daily driver
In an E46 M3? Best I've done is 10.56 @ 142Mph (but that was with the subs and stereo in).. 1.70 60ft

Relax people. It's not a dick measuring contest. It's not like people whipped out their cock on the table and started measuring. It's just a matter of traction. Good job @ZooyorQ for stepping up.

My 60-130 on that run was likely low 7's.. the next day I was doing consistent 5.6's and 5.7's when we did boost by speed (aka gear). I was running 265/30/19 R888's. If he hadn't of jumped me and I had my boost by speed dialed in it would have been a much more fair race, but without a doubt I'd still had been killed.
I dunno. Looks like you'd need another 500+ whp and slicks to even hang.

    Those cars are beyond belief.

My mistake. I jumped to the conclusion that this was like 99% of the turbo E46 M3's running 11's@135 + as it certainly looked like it from the video

DCT car with a centrifugal blower and an E9X. Different than the E46.

To this day, when driving it.. people yell/ask (Nice HPF Car! or title videos/pictures of it as "HPF Turbo M3") .. I don't bother to correct them.. its still going to be a few years before people drop the "HPF" part of "Turbo M3".

To compete i'd need 2 litres more displacement, and awd.. but the way he left me on the top end there wouldn't have happened as easily had I been on drag radials (or slicks) and had traction. If you watch this video (which is from the second day, when I dialed the car in and was hooking at 23psi vs 30psi on the first day) you can see the car is significantly faster.

It goes without saying that the Z06 wasn't a fair matchup, but that was also one of my 5.6/5.7 60-130's compared to the run with the lambo which would have been a high 7 low 8 at best.

    ...

I should also mention this is my street car, i run street tires (265/30/19 - R888's) on it.. I have a nice stereo setup in it with an 11" sub.. and it runs on flex fuel/e85. So this is EXACTLY what you would be up against if you ran into me on the freeway and decided you wanted to reel me in. Exactly. Nothing changed. No emptying the tank, switching keys/knobs, putting in race gas, switching tires, etc..

I don't understand what the point of mentioning that an E46 M3 and an E92 M3 are different. This is a waste of a post. The car makes near 700hp, has very similar suspension geometry and dead hooked on 265's. It was suggested 345's weren't even enough to be a solution, that is incorrect

I make 700ftlbs of torque.. at like 5500rpm or so.. if my tires 'dead hooked' my car would be making like 200hp.. It would bog. You need the car to roll out first before hooking. Yes it has similar geometry but its not that simple. I could improve my times, but I've only taken it to the strip once, and to a roll race once.. needless to say it breaks a lot of drive line components .. i'm in the process of fixing my rear end now.

A valid point is made in that the car is driven and driven hard... I commented that it wasnt a race, I meant in the sense that it wasnt even close. However the owner is clearly having a ball and as I have said all along I love a fast car thats driven versus one that just sits all the time. There is always someone faster, I'd rather lose having a ball then not run at all.

    Um it's quite important.

The rear end of the E92 is a huge improvement. The car just flat out launches much better, look at how quickly it got into the 10's or what it runs even with bolt on's.

700 horsepower between two setups can be very different. Hence why I mentioned a centrifugal blower versus a turbo, big difference.

The suspension and rear end setup on the cars is very different. Your post would be closer to being a waste...

Damn..... That UGR TT Gallargo is Insane! i agree to what was mentioned earlier, for a BMW to compete with an AWD Beast like this or a GTR for that matter we would fair way better if we had an AWD platform that could handle that level of power.... a TT V8 + xDrive in an E92 M3 would be it....

Manhart i believe has two but there asking price is ridiculous and because of that those two cars sit in there show room and have made solo runs NEVER Againts anything else in germany

These roll races can even the playing field but once you get700+HP you got the same problem all over again (no traction). High power andAWD is an awesome combo especially above 500+HP.
I stopped driving the Supra once I got the M3 then put onthe SC and fell in love all over again instant power, the DCT is so nice andgetting the power down from a roll works well in the 500hp range.
Recently cleaned up the Supra, tune, tiers, and took her fora run and forgot how fast 700rwhp is and how hard it is to put the power down. Theplatform is old and the power delivery is so different but once she hooks upits scary fast.
I get back in the M and she almost feels slow, funny how themind works.

The M is just more composed with different power delivery.

There are guys out there with 1500+ horse rear wheel drive cars. It's more about getting your setup down. The m3 is low torque, it can put down big HP pretty effectively.

Agreed, would love a 1200+ RWHP E9xM3, I'm pretty happy with my set up but getting the itch for a little more hp, watching these races is just a carrot on a string for me.
