Pretty much. There is some truly awesome developments going on for this platform right now. Funny how e90 is involved in or supporting none of it..
It's degenerated into just a marketplace and all it will be moving forward. We have a better balance.

That's really cool news. I was told by a mechanic that I know quite well that the driveshaft of the 335i is not really conceived for coping with torque that is double that of the stock engine. I also know that a few tuners in Germany use strengthened driveshafts for their 1M Coupés, although I believe that these will probably be steel driveshafts rather than carbon fiber ones.

I'm definitely interested in this. Great development, Dzenno.

Thanks guys. DSS is working on this. They didn't realize the differential side of the driveshaft didn't have a CV on it and was secured with a lock nut. Initially they thought its like most setups with a CV there so its a bit more complicated and they've ordered a driveshaft for themselves to use for specs/measurements. Let you know how it goes.

Is your car sitting driveshaftless until this is built?

If so, what a tease! Car was running beast mode and then another road hump =(

I paid $989.99 for a DSS CF drive shaft for my built 04 cobra making 800hp. It held up nicely. Not sure why this one would be any more than that one..?

Size of the market and competition drives the price point. American Muscle will always have a MUCH larger aftermarket and companies competing than Euro anything, at least on this continent.

Yeah, but I'm pretty sure there are a lot more 135i's than there are 2003-2004 cobras. In total there were 19,140 2003-2004 SVT cobras produced.

I can't argue those stats or the price from DSS. In fact I wish the DSS slashed the price to cost and gave them away to everyone in this community Click here to enlarge Now that'd be epic

    Now we are talking..LOL

I didn't mean any disrespect, and I'm a realist. I just hope that we don't get a nefarious BMW tax and see them priced much above $1200. IMO that would be the cutoff point between selling a whole lot of them and selling a few only to those trying to eek out every 10th of a second they can in performance. <$1,200 should bring in those in the above category as well as those wanting it just for the "I have a CF drive shaft" cool factor and extra money to burn category.

I REALLY think you need to buy a 335i with a 6AT and hand it to DSS for parts development Click here to enlarge

OT: I just bought a COBB AP and I'll contact you once I get it for a) troubleshooting my broken down car and b) get an E-tune when RBs are slapped on the car, around January Click here to enlarge

I'll have something from a 6AT soon, the 3.46 diff Click here to enlarge I already have the 2.56 (although broken) and the OEM (open) 3.08. They're all fun in their own ways and if there was only a way to switch up the gear ratios at the press of a button somewhere on the steering wheel heh

Sounds good on the tune, any time..

I had the shaft we received on the bench and was trying to figure out the spline size, its not a standard one but not a problem. Is there any chance the person that broke there pinion off still has the male portion ? ill just have the tool made.
