    First of all guys, I am not Andy. In addition, I know that it is Weistec that are doing the tuning for the SLS from the begining. (you can guess now how JRCART was in direct contact with them and got a ride in the project SLS)

    Look, I wil say this, and don't ask me how I got this info, Craig has not been posting here lately due to unfinished tuning issues. First of all, the twin turbo set up is excellent. Weistec are trying to figure out the correct and safe paramaters and correct boost that will work with the stock internals. This process takes time. @JRCART. Knows more about this than anybody in this thread :-)

    So why no one puts a standalone in these cars and call it a day? I'm sure there is no engine out there that a Pectel SQ6 can't support.

    Likely because of retaining compatability for all the other functions. Same reason people don't just ditch the factory ECU in E92's.

    You got to pay to play, right? Plus, when people think of a standalone, the first thing comes to their mind is a Mega Squirt-like ECU. SQ6M is a beautiful thing with great features.

    Why E92 guys don't ditch their Bosch ECU? Because mostly their parents wouldn't be pleased because they are paying for the car.

    Ok well I'd prefer to have my stock ECU flashed and to retain my stock ECU. At most a standalone working in conjunction with my stock ECU.

    The reason people don't ditch their factory ECU's is because you have things like I-Drive and DCT's, has nothing to do with anything else. In older cars there are less systems relying on the factory electronics so it makes more sense.

    Either way the people working on this probably know is best.

    It's a work in progress but I mean basically nobody has better control of the M156/M159 ecu for forced induction than Weistec.

    I'll have more info for you Friday.

    I think with people knowing Weistec is involved in the tuning it gives much more confidence in the project.

    What misinformation? It's their own plaque from SEMA with their own info on it. How else do you interpret it? It isn't back dooring anything it is just confirming who is involved with the tuning and providing some supplemental info.
