. They played up the idea that they went to crazy lengths to shave weight and that the new M3 would be much lighter than the car it replaced. That 3306 pound claimed weight was misleading to say the least as a 6-speed manual F80 M3 with fluids was weighed and it came out to 3562 pounds.
How exactly does BMW miss the target by 256 pounds? By quoting a dry weight without fluids and also likely with the optional carbon ceramic brakes which this F80 M3 does not have. This is a manual car by the way which means that a DCT M3 without the carbon ceramics will likely tip the scales at over 3600 pounds with a full gas tank.
