      This is an interesting matchup between two cars with similar sized and turbocharged four cylinder motors. The main difference here being that the GTI has front wheel drive and the Evo 8 is an all wheel drive vehicle. The front wheel drive layout of the GTI actually helps it in this race despite its smaller turbo due to lower drivetrain losses as it is able to pull the Mitsubishi Evo in a couple of the videos although it is very close between the two. ...

      Not really all that surprising that VW is axing this model considering how mini-van's are not longer in style and have not been for quite some time. The Routan is produced in a plant in Canada and the current contract of production has expired and won't be renewed for this model. A Routan successor simply is not in the cards especially considering the poor sales performance of the model in the United States. It's basically just a rebadged Dodge Caravan anyway. ...

      Here is Volkswagen's WRC (World Rally Challenge) effort for 2013 courtesy of the Volkswagen Polo R WRC. VW devleoped this vehicle over a 17 month period and launched it this past week in Monaco. The car has a 6-speed sequential manual transmission and a 1.6 liter TSI four-cylinder motor which is limited to 300 horsepower courtesy of restrictors.       Congratulations yet again to VWBoost member pattrick02 for his 2.0 TSI world record 1/4 mile run. Just recently he ran a 11.7@121 1/4 mile. He improved upon this with an 11.49 elapsed time. The vehicle is a MKVI Jetta GLI with a modified APR Stage 3+ kit. The 11.49 run makes for a new world record for the quickest 2.0 TSI motor. This MKIV Jetta GLI previously ran a 10.89 in the 1/4 mile and on its latest trip to the strip managed to improve this elapsed time to 10.63@139 miles per hour.       Congratulations to VWBoost member pattrick02 who broke into the 11's in the 1/4 mile with his MKVI Volkswagen Jetta GLI. This car recently dyno'd 473 wheel horsepower with a modified APR Stage III kit and a fuel system upgraded by USP Motorsports including the LPFP (low pressure fuel pump and HPFP (high pressure fuel pump). Definitely some good power out of the 2.0 liter turbocharged motor. A 1.746 60 foot for a front wheel drive car is definitely impressive as well. ...

      Congratulations to APR on the first 11 second manual US Golf R. APR was able to hit 11's with ESP on and the stock all season tires. They also did not shift into 5th gear at the 1/4 mile mark hurting the trap a little bit. This is a development car so times will no doubt improve as it sees more time on the drag strip. Still, an 11.8@113 in the 1/4 mile on runflat tires with traction control on gives a pretty good idea as to what the car is capable of in street trim. ...

      Congratulations to VWBoost member pattrick02 whose MKVI Jetta GLI put down a very impressive 473 wheel horsepower on a dynojet dyno. This car has a modified APR Stage 3+ upgrade but really it is the fueling upgrades that make this amount of power possible. The HPFP (high pressure fuel pump) and LPFP (low pressure fuel pump) system were both modified by USP Motorsports in order to give the fuel system enough of a bump to support this amount of power. ...
