Gintani is offering an introductory special for their naturally aspirated stroker motor for the S65. This offer is open only to the first person and the intro pricing reflects this. Included in the price are the new pistons, rods, custom crank, installation, custom dyno tune, as well as custom headers built specifically for the stroker application. No additional costs, everything included for the intro price. Compare this to $25,999 for the Dinan stroker motor or $32,800 for the RDsport stroker motor and one can see just how great this offer is. ...Published on 01-08-2011 02:11 AM
Here we have an initial dyno of the Cobb Accessport on the N54. The car used is a 135i 6-speed. The dyno is on 93 octane pushing around 15 psi of boost. No boost graph or AFR is included which we would like but we will take what they give us. The result for 93 octane pump gas only certainly is not bad but some, including BMS, are expressing concerns about the boost being pushed. This tune compares favorably with the Giac Stage 1. A new 1/4 mile record for quickest and fastest C63 and overall 63 amg was set at the MIR dragstrip by dodger63. This is an absolutely phenomenal time and an incredible achievement especially when one factors in this was done all on the motor, no nitrous or other power adder. The modifications are as follow: MHP tuning V3 CDT, MHP long tube headers , modified airbox, and drag radials along with race gas. Congratulations once again to MHP and dodger63 for a stunning new record and raising the bar!

The Mercedes C111 was part of a series of experimental cars produced by Mercedes in the 60's and 70's. Mercedes experimented with rotary engines and fiberglass bodies and the styling of the concept was very unique. The owner of GWA tuning in Texas decided the car deserved a modern update and is building his version on a tubular space frame chassis. A 408 hp Mercedes V12 is positioned in a mid-engine layout. The car weighs around 3000 pounds and yes, those are gullwing doors. Wheels are borrowed from the SLS with 19 inch fronts and 20 inch rears. Likely only one of these will be made so put your checkbook down. Plus, wait until you see the final product as these are just renderings. ...Published on 01-06-2011 09:53 AM
HPF has been on a marketing blitz lately releasing tons of quality content. Pay attention tuners, this is how you market. What we have here is a short video with the two widebody M3's but it mostly focuses on the black Stage 4 widebody. Just a little teaser clip that is interesting but it sure could do without the music. ...Published on 01-06-2011 08:19 AM
Yes, this is a small photo of the C-coupe which should be making its official debut shortly. This is from Autobild who has the official pictures already in their position but can not debut them yet as it would violate the time limit imposed by Mercedes for the reveal. This type of stuff happens all the time with manufacturers having agreements with news sources on when they can reveal documents or pictures. That did not stop someone from leaking out a picture from the Autobild magazine set to hit newstands with pictures of the new C. ...Published on 01-05-2011 03:01 PM

Renntech claims the aero parts have been aerodynamically tested to improve downforce. Front and rear adjustable camber bushings are also offered which Renntech states will allow drivers to tailor the handling to suit different styles of driving as well as set the car up for various tracks. Ok, so you are in the market for a sweet van. You don't want to get an SUV like everyone else and feel big dollar sedans are played out. Plus, you need space for all your friends (ya right). What do you get? The $190,000 Sprinter Grand Edition, that's what. Packed with Wi-Fi, satellite radio, and a 32 inch LCD screen it can definitely accommodate whomever you bring with you in style. It is not the fastest thing on the road, powered by a 190 hp 3.0 V6 diesel, but that isn't the point. Definitely a a plush ride, specs below: ...Published on 01-04-2011 05:55 AM
The new X3 poses a very interesting entry into the SUV landscape. Packing a 3.0 liter turbo 6 cylinder with 300 hp, it really is quite fast for an SUV. Being over 1000 pounds lighter than X5 or X6 certainly does not hurt. In stock form the SUV is running times comparable to the US E36 M3. It is not marketed as such, but due to the low curb weight and turbo powerplant the X3 makes for an interesting entry into the performance SUV realm. Think about what it could do with a V8. Specs below: ...Published on 01-04-2011 03:01 AM
The photos used to trademark the new 2012 SLK have been leaked out. We already saw the SLK revealed in a video earlier but these are the first photos of the design we have before the official debut. Nothing really earth shattering here, all we want to know is if the AMG version will get a twin turbo V8. If it does... game over, everyone. ...Published on 01-03-2011 06:26 PM
Autoblog is reporting that the ML63 production has ended. This ML generation continues on until the next gen set to come in as a 2013 model but the ML63 AMG is no more. Does this mean we will not get a new AMG model until the next generation? Based on ML precedent, yes, but Mercedes often breaks precedent. Either way, if a new engine makes its way in or not, this ML63 is done. ...Published on 01-03-2011 08:09 AM
It is always great to see independent results at the drag strip to put manufacturer claims and magazine times into context. Here we have a completely stock SL65 AMG. Street tires, pump gas, no mods at all. 11.75@120 on street tires with that much power is very respectable. This time is a baseline and the owner will be returning to the strip with mods to show their impact, that is what we like to see. ...Published on 01-03-2011 01:11 AM
Asbjorn from ESS sent some very nasty letters threatening Bimmerboost with legal action over revealing issues with the supercharged stroker motor. Frankly, we do not understand why Asbjorn is doing this as it is completely beneath any professional company and far more could be accomplished by taking the higher road as one would expect the head of a large BMW aftermarket company to do. BimmerBoost does not condone these actions and finds them offensive and unprofessional. No company should say they would take pleasure in hurting anyone.
Here is what Asbjorn@ESS sent: ...Published on 01-02-2011 11:51 PM
This is a W221 S550 that caught our attention. Kind of hard to avoid a bright red S-class, isn't it? The rims are a matter of personal preference but the 22 inch forgiato rims are not our style. The designo interior is red as well to match the exterior. An S65 body kit was also added but we do not understand why the S65 badges were added to the S550? Makes the owner seem like a bit of a poser. It's different, that is for sure, but leave the fake badges and red pin stripes on wheels to the ricers. ...Published on 01-02-2011 04:39 AM
We do not do much coverage of BMW bikes but we are putting this up as we have been toying with the idea of including bike coverage. This is a nice little video of professional super bike rider Leon Haslam with the 2011 S1000RR at the Aragon circuit in Spain. The circuit itself is a beautiful new road course that is now one of the races on the Moto GP calender, check it out. ...Published on 12-31-2010 07:08 PM
This is a feel good piece from BMW giving a short overview of videos from 2010 and some pretty nice shots overall. Yes, it is a promotional piece for BMW TV but it is a nice way to wrap up 2010. Happy New Year everybody, thanks for a great 2010, and here is to an amazing 2011! ...Published on 12-31-2010 05:43 PM
BMW was apparently doing a photoshoot with their new "supercar" (we use the term loosely) when photographers happened to be at the right place at the right time and snapped some photos of the very production looking car. There also are rumors floating around that the name is now the i8, which is a lot easier to type than Vision Efficient Dynamics. The car does look very, very good in this trim and we do not hope much changes with the styling by the time it arrives on the market. ...Published on 12-30-2010 09:06 PM
Diesel performance is something we think is going to gain significant ground over the next few years. With an ever increasing focus on efficiency and going "green" we think the American public will embrace diesels like never before. In the European market, diesels already account for the majority of the sales for BMW and Mercedes-Benz. These motors are slow to make their way over but cars like the E350 Bluetec show that diesels have come a long way. The Benz diesel is not quite as quick as the competition but still a great offering. Results below: ...
