As of March 2011, this option will be available for all X6 models except the hybrid. The extra seat naturally replaces rear center storage compartment. There are also new wheel options being rolled out as well but the 5 seat option is something that should have been available to begin with. About time BMW, and we figure this is going to be a popular retrofit for X6 owners. ...Published on 02-09-2011 09:00 AM
Well... that was fast. MTM managed to already get a hold of an A7 and tweak it. The most obvious difference is a modified rear diffuser which accepts a quad exhaust. Wheel spacers and MTM rims were installed as well. A lowering module designed to work with the stock suspension is in the works. A tune for the 3.0 TDI in this A7 was added which boosts horsepower by about 40 to 285. ...Published on 02-09-2011 04:00 AM
It is logical that we should see an Audi S7. It would also be logical that it would have the new turbo direct injected V8 motor. The S7 would get it in single turbo guise putting out something in the low 400's, making it a great 550i competitor. The RS6 would then get the twin turbo version putting out 550-600 horsepower. Autolifestyle.nl put up some renderings of what the new S6 might look like and expect this model as early as the end of the year. ...Published on 02-09-2011 04:00 AM
Hartge released their lowering springs for the 535d yesterday. These springs lower the car approximately 30 millimeters. Hartge now has a complete set of lowering springs available for all F10 5 series models. This means the 520d, 523i, 528i, 530d, 535i, and the 550i. Pricing was not available but one may want to check with Eibach (located in Southern California) directly, as they make these springs for Hartge. ...Published on 02-09-2011 03:25 AM
If you are in the United States you may even be asking yourself what a CLC even is. Basically, it was the entry level C-class hatchback. The newest model was not sold in the United States. It was based on the W203 but it was updated with W204 styling. With the C-class coupe occupying the entry level C class segment Mercedes deemed there was no need to continue with the CLC. Will be miss it? Uh, we already forgot it existed. ...Published on 02-08-2011 09:20 PM
Autoblog reports that this is the new Audi RS7. It does not look beefed up as an Audi RS model should but that is likely part of the disguise. Power comes from a twin turbo V8 (reported on earlier) shared with Bentley. The car should have between 550-600 horsepower going through a dual clutch gearbox along with what appear to be carbon ceramic brakes making for quite the ride. This car is aimed directly at the CLS63 AMG and that should be an epic battle. ...Published on 02-08-2011 08:04 PM
Autocar is reporting that Bentley will be getting two different versions of a direct injected turbo 4.0 liter V8. This powerplant will come in single turbo form putting out around ~410 horsepower as well as a twin turbo version putting out over 550 horsepower. This motor would likely power an Audi S7, RS7, S8, and a new RS6. Expect to see this motor in a Bentley by the end of the year. ...Published on 02-08-2011 07:00 PM
First of, congratulations. Closing in on 1k hp at the wheels with an HPF Stage 4 setup is no small feat. Horsepowerfreaks has been advertising this as 970 whp which is what the car did put down uncorrected. The SAE corrected numbers are 925 whp and what we will go with. This car belongs to someone named Jason and it is a very, very impressive car. ...Published on 02-08-2011 04:35 AM
AWE Tuning has released their Audi Q5 3.2 exhaust. It is available in two different versions, resonated and non-resonated. The non-resonated starts at about $1700 and the resonated version goes up to about $2300 depending on options such as polished tips. Power gains are about 6 horsepower at all 4 wheels which is about what one should expect from a rear section only. Click read more for pics and videos. ...Published on 02-08-2011 03:41 AM
The vast majority of BMW blogs and sites on the net posted pictures of the N20 sitting in an engine bay with a plastic cover. That did not do much for us to be able to see the actual motor. Well, a shot of the motor has surfaced that also reveals the size of the intercooler. This is all we have so far but we are hoping more photos and details of the motor will surface soon. ...Published on 02-08-2011 02:18 AM
Ok, so this is BMW modding in a slightly different direction. Even wonder what to do with your old BMW? Have some spare parts laying around? Maybe your car met its end in some unfortunate circumstances? Well, classic auto furniture can help you do something with those spare parts. Their 1994 BMW 740il ultimate power desk would be a great place to browse BimmerBoost.com from, but it does not come cheap at $3825. Check out their various models available and they can build you a custom setup as well. ...Published on 02-07-2011 07:21 PM
So the day has arrived. We've finished inventorying the kit, the countless billet machined pieces, custom cast pieces and the water cut stainless steel pieces. Everything's here so it's go time. We like to keep the shop as clean as humanly possible, but with understanding that our work can get dirty from time to time.
During G-Power installations, it requires our utmost in focus and cleanliness, so we're extra-OCD on keeping the install area for this clean. If you've watched our last install's time lapse video, you know we aren't kidding. ...Published on 02-05-2011 03:40 PM
These tests were all performed on a MK I Audi TT with the 1.8t tsi motor. The black lines are when the car was stock. Blue line is with a GIAC tune plus an AWE turbo outlet pipe. The red line is with the GIAC tune, AWE turbo outlet pope, and the addition of the C|C|B intake. It never made much sense to us that the C-coupe would be neutered. Thankfully, that is not the case. The C63 AMG coupe will in fact share the C63 AMG sedans 450+ horsepower 6.2 liter M156 V8. This is exactly how it should be and we thank Mercedes for having the balls to go through with it. This also bodes well for the black series version of the C-class coupe to get the twin turbo V8. Well done Mercedes! ...Published on 02-04-2011 03:26 PM
Well, Mercedes has put out some teasers that they intend to reveal something big during the fourth quarter of the superbowl. What is it? We don't know, but it better not be a front wheel drive hybrid or there will be rioting. Check out the three teaser vids. ...Published on 02-04-2011 10:52 AM
The ultimate sellout machine continues to roll. BMW announced this week they will be partnering with Peugot-Citroen on a hybrid front wheel drive drivetrain for a BMW vehicle positioned beneath the 1 series. The 0 series? Who knows, but we thought this is what the Mini brand was for? It would seem that the next generation Mini will be sharing this platform so BMW is simply re-badging that for increased sales. Someone make this nonsense stop. ...Published on 02-04-2011 02:21 AM
Gintani is wrapping up development of their C63 AMG exhaust. After the final round of testing the car was flashed back to stock and here we have a dyno of the car from the baseline stock to with the exhaust and tune. Stock the car put down 360 whp and with the exhaust alone on 91 octane the car put out 402.0 whp. A very, very nice gain with exhaust alone. Expect pricing information to come shortly. ...Published on 02-04-2011 12:32 AM
It would seem that BMW and Mercedes continue to match one another move for move. Mercedes did the CLS so BMW will likely be coming with the 6 gran turismo. BMW does the X3 so Mercedes does the GLK. Now we have the GLC which will be matching up to the X1. The GLC is expected to share the motors offered in the A and B class as well as their platform. All wheel drive will be standard, no word on if it will be offered in the USA. ...Published on 02-03-2011 08:12 PM
