      Here it officially is, the new MKVII Volkswagen GTD. This is essentially a diesel GTI featuring a 2.0 liter turbocharged diesel powerplant with 184 horses and 280 pound-feet of torque. The car should have pretty good pep with a curb weight of only 3,036 pounds. Volkswagen says the 0-60 is 7.5 seconds although that is likely conservative. And with a tune to unlock some of that hidden power and torque this should be an interesting diesel performance platform.

      The question is, will this car come to the USA? A previous article stated chances are pretty good. It would be nice to have the hotter GTD Golf available and the TDI models are very popular for Volkswagen in the USA. Let's hope we get it, pictures below.
