Rumor: 2014 Porsche Panamera S to drop V8 for Twin Turbo V6 after facelift - Spyphotos
The Porsche Panamera is getting a facelift for 2014. It will consist of the typical minor cosmetic changes including the front and rear lights as well as the front and rear bumpers. The interior will get some minor tweaks as well. The real piece of news though is a rumor that the Panamera S will drop its current 4.8 liter 400 horsepower direct injected naturally aspirated V8 for a twin turbo V6 powerplant with similar power but more torque.
The twin turbo V6 would be based on the Panamera V6 from the base model. This move somewhat makes sense as the upcoming Macan SUV is set to receive a twin turbo V6 as well
. The V8 seemingly reserved for the Panamera Turbo and Turbo S models. Will it happen? Time will tell, but the source is a Porsche insider. Certainly possible, treat it as a rumor.
