Audi already stated they intend to use the 2.5 TFSI inline-5 in more models. With the S3 gaining about 35 horses the RS3 would likely need a similar power boost to stay ahead of the now more powerful S3. Let's say the new model has about 130 pounds less weight but about 40 more horsepower for something the 375 range, it will make for a very high performance hatchback.
The real question would be if the United States would get such a model. The previous generation RS3 did not find its way over. The S3 will come to the USA but only as a sedan, we won't get the A3 coupe. Let's hope with the A3 for sale in the USA Audi realizes the the US market appreciates and demands RS models. The RS3 would definitely sell, especially if it were available as a coupe.
